Artist Comments
“Early on the evening of 5th June 2008 a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and then watch was issued for Prince Edward County. I watched a huge storm cell moving directly towards Viewfinder Hill, lighting licking the ground like a laser from an invader from War of the Worlds.
Moments before this image I witnessed plasma balls as a tree next to the house was hit by lightning, taking the power out. I was terrified but mesmerized at the same time and despite the risks knew I had to keep shooting.
Although I was working in the total darkness, neither able to compose or focus through the viewfinder, I was rewarded with an amazing capture, lightning perfectly positioned within the frame.”
